Anyone with information about my Great uncles death in June 1921 - Ned Foley was hung at Mountjoy prison for his involvement in the Cause. Presently I have a book that details his and two ther men's experience called Limerick's Fighting Story that has been passed down and now is a very old book.

I disagree with you interpretations of the origins of the Henebry name.

The Henebry Family and its name as I know it are all from the area of Waterford/South Killkenny. The Irish translation for the name is "de hIndeberg". This is a very unusual spelling for an Irish name so it begs us to ask questions about it.

Waterford City was always a thriving and important port and was firstly invaded by the Vikings and then subsequently invaded by the Normans (1170AD approx). Its not clear which invasion brought the name with it buts it is more likely to have come from the Normans. The Normans of course came from predominately German areas in Northern Europe.

Another point is that although there is no official crest for the name we are aware of two. One consists of 3 yellow horns and a diagonal yellow strip separating them on a red background. The second shows a tree on the top half of the crest with a greyhound shown below.

My uncle is more knowlegeable about the name and its history so i'll be checking with him but that is out local understanding of the name and its origins.

Regards

Aidan

Hello Ronald,
My name is also Ron, and I am tracing my Irish ancestry through a David Henebery and his Wife Mary Cronage who were married in the Parish of Ballyporeen on the 5Th of February,1846. This couple moved to Australia around 1852 aboard the ship "ARGINCOURT"with their daughter (Catherine) and settled in a town called "MYERS FLAT" Catherine in turn married a man named Guiseppie Scetrini, and this couple moved to Kumara,New Zealand and one of their Daughters(Johanna) married my Great Grandfather, Francis-Davis Payn in Kumara,New Zealand.David and Mary also had another daughter (ROSE) who married a Thomas Burns and at some time they owned a Hotel in BENDIGO called the "Golden Fleece" That is How I am Linked up to Ireland, but if at all possible I would like a little more history and information on this Henebery family. If the information I have given is enough, is it possible that you could have a connection to this family or know someone that does?
Could this message be posted on your message board please.

Yours Truly,
Ronald C Payn (Greymouth,New Zealand)

I am seeking possible relatives and have little or no information to go
on. I know the family lived in Oklahoma at one time, possibly Ada.
They traveled extensively as the men in the family were all into
carpentry and related specialty work. This was in the early 1900's.
My grandmother's name was Vida Violet Dunn. She was born May
14, 1916. She died in May of 1996. She settled in Lorain, OH. She
married William Kish and they settled in Lorain, OH. She had many
siblings although I do not know their names. The only one living at the
time of her death was Denver Dunn.(?)
If you have any information I would really appreciate it.

I was wondering if there was any information on a Jeremiah Hennebry who came to America in the early 1920's (I'm pretty sure that's about when he came over).  He is my grandfather, and unfortunately died when my father was only five years old.  We know fairly little about him and his family from Ireland and have been curious to know a little more.  He lived in Brooklyn, New York and we believe that several of his brothers and sisters lived in or around that area as well.  If you have any information or know where I can find it, I'd appreciate it very much.  My e-mail address is Dermot@worldnet.att.net.

I have recently started looking into my family tree, so it was great to find your web site, even if i'm not related it was very interesting.

The only information I have is that my grandfather was James Frank Henneberry who was born 1906 in New Ross, (Kilkenny/ Wexford border)
Ireland. His Father was James Henneberry Born 1875 and his mother Bridget Moran(?) also born 1875. James Frank had brothers & sisters the
ones i have names for are Joseph, Maisie, Kathleen, Bridie and Dorothy although there may be others.

James Frank Henneberry married Gladys Oakley in 1933. They lived in Eltham London England where they had eight children.

I hope that you'll have some leads for me?

My name is Claire Henneberry. I am the daughter of Walter Henneberry and
grandaughter of Edward Henneberry. My father, Walter, who was born on
8/30/99 was the son of Edward and Rose (Burns) Henneberry. He was one of 10
children, 7 of whom were sons. He died in 1976. I have done a little
research into the the family tree, and have a copy of a search done in Salt
Lake City. It traces the family back to the arrival of Edward Henneberry, my
father's grandfather, in Boston between 1850 and 1853. My father's father,
also Edward, was born in Boston about 1959. There is an Edward in every
generation, so the text becomes rather confusing. I have high-
lighted the different Edwards' names in different colors to keep them
straight.

My father became an attorney in Boston. One day while in his office, he
received a telephone call asking him if he was Walter Henneberry. When he
replied that he was, the caller told him that he, too, was Walter Henneberry
from Tulsa, OK; and he, too, was an attorney. He was in Boston for his
daughter's graduation from Radcliffe. My mother and father and the other
Walter Henneberry and his wife had dinner together that weekend (in the mid
1950's), but they did not maintain any kind of a relationship.

Hi--I'm always perusing the web looking for Brannicks!!! and am glad to
share any info.
Margaret was my Grandpa John's first cousin (according to an old family
tree). I see where she married a David Henneberry. It looks like she was
the youngest of ten children of Michael Brannick and Maryanne Sterling.
Michael was born in County Mayo, in Crossboyne near the town of Ballindine.
I know he immigrated to the USA.
He made some money in the California gold fields and returned to Illinois
where he bought farmland. Michael's ancestors go back to his ggggrandfather
Henry Brannick, and my gggggggrandpa,
who was born in 1635, probably in Co Mayo up in the Tyralley area.
Poor Margaret is squashed on the very bottom of this chart. I don't know if
there were any children after her. We have a fairly extensive Brannick
address book going since we discovered computers. The Brannicks of Illinois
are fairly well documented
and I have a little information on most of Margaret's brothers and sisters.
Her sister Jane has a greatgrandaughter who is very interested in her family
history and keeps in touch through our Brannick mailing list. Also there is
a Sister (nun) who kept some track of her aunts and uncles if you would like
that letter and info.
Let me know if you would like me to xerox any of Michael Brannick's line.
Perhaps a descendent of Margaret?

REPLY: Thanks for the note. Havana, IL is 88 miles from Dalton City. John H. Wehmhoff married Elizabeth Foley on Feb.
5, 1889 in Moultrie County. You may be able to obtain the marriage certificate which usually lists the parents of the bride and
groom. Try the Moultrie County Clerks Office, 10 S. Main St. Sullivan, IL 61951. Court phone 217-728-4622 ask to
transfer to County Clerks office. I could find no census records in 1870 or 1880 Moultrie County for Wehmhoff. The Foley's
lived on the farm next to my grandparents in Dalton City. I have vague recollections of the Wehmhoff family. Good luck.

Hi, my name is Bradley Dunn. I am from Brady, Montana, USA. My
descendants came from Ireland sometime in the early 1800's.
Unfortunately my great-great grandfather's mother died and did not leave
any past history about our family moving from Ireland. We have been
unable to locate his birth records in Philadelphia, PA where we believe
he was born. But I do believe we are descendants from the original Dunn
clan in Ireland. So hello. I would love to give you more information

Three years ago when I remarried, I changed my name to reflect my wife's
name in mine. My name is now Bradley Milo Dunn-meier. She is of German
origin, hence the Meier. Hope to hear from someone in the family.
